I get this questions almost as much as: "What is the matrix?"

IDX is a funny thing. We bury it in terms of complication: Reciprosity. FTP. Data feed. Internet Data eXchange.

IDX is merely a way of giving back to the realtor what they have entered.

The main purpose is for placement on webpages. Some people use this information for advertising. Mailings. And such.

IDX is, in essence, the placement of all listings allowed onto a public server which can be retrieved once a day for placement on your webpage.
